Think dried and candied orange peel and candied blood orange. What a magical balance the citrus freshness strikes with the cushioning, gentle vanilla. Textural bliss and aromatic fireworks. Drink until 2040, at least.

The 2015 Chardonnay TBA (Nummer 7) offers a breathtaking interplay of richness and vibrancy. Orange peel, apricot glaze, rosewater, spice, French oak and star anise all build as this sumptuous, exotic TBA shows off its plush curves and extroverted personality. The 2015 is dazzling. That's all there is to it.

Predominantly from gravel soils and aged in new oak for 18 months, the 2015 Trockenbeerenauslese No 7 Chardonnay Nouvelle Vague displays an intense golden color and an elegant, nobly spicy bouquet with just a touch of oak. Rich and viscous, this is another beautifully balanced and elegant yet mouth- filling TBA with fine tannins and lovely spicy flavors. The finish is beautifully salty, fine and very long with just a hing of new oak, which I like a lot here. The 2015 is a very digestible TBA, and its elegance and balance are truly outstanding. 9% alcohol and 246 grams of residual sugar. 2018 - 2050.

If you love rich, dry chardonnay, the chances are high that you will go for this lusciously sweet example. Masses of roasted coconut character, but also butter, vanilla and caramel. The extraordinary thing is that all this isn't too much; in fact, the wine has beautiful creaminess that weaves everything together at the long, lush finish. Drink or hold.

The 2015 Trockenbeerenauslese No 7 Chardonnay Nouvelle Vague is one of the more powerful, full-throttle releases in 2015. Brought up in plenty of new oak, it offers a huge nose quince liqueur, toasted spice, persimmon, and candied orange rind. Full-bodied, thick, and unctuous on the palate, it nevertheless stays beautifully balanced, has terrific acidity, and a clean finish. Give bottles a few years in the cellar, at which point it's going to keep for three decades or more.

This is off to an intense start, but the creaminess is quickly sliced by precise, refreshing acidity, which is an important facet in such a complex dessert-style wine. Features flavors of apple pie, creamed honey and sweet spice, and continues to give while unraveling on the palate, ending with a salted caramel note.
