Even the basic wines from Chris and Andrea Mullineux ooze precision, focus and balance. This is made with Chenin grapes from the Paardeberg and Roundstone and is drier and less tropical than previous bottlings, with quince and yellow apple fruit and a thread of granitic freshness. Very drinkable.

The 2021 Kloof Street Chenin Blanc begins with a bright nose of crisp yellow fruit and fresh sweet citrus aromas that float effortlessly out of the glass with precision. Medium-bodied, the wine has an energetic mouthfeel with a classic kiss of phenolic bitterness followed by a balanced structure and ending with a food-friendly finish. This may be the best Chenin Blanc for the price.
