D'Alceo fremstår kulsort i glasset. Duften er ekstremt koncentreret og kompleks med klart definerede nuancer af solbær, grafit, cigarkasse og mineraler. Smagen folder sig ud, lag efter lag, og byder på en likøragtigt koncentreret bærfrugt. I eftersmagen mærker man vinens perfekt modne, fine tannin og dens betydelige mineralitet. Vinen smager allerede forbløffende godt som ung, men dens lagringspotentiale er simpelthen fænomenalt.

The 2011 d'Alceo, tasted from tank just prior to bottling, is shaping up to be magnificent. Blackberry jam, white flowers and fragrant spices saturate the palate in a stunning wine endowed with superb pedigree and class. It is so rare to find a wine that combines this level of ripeness and acidity, without feeling heavy at all. The 2011 clocks in a 14.6% in alcohol and a whopping 6.4% acidity, a balance of elements that is exceedingly rare. Once again, picking early was the key. What a gorgeous wine! 2019 - 2031.

A blend of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a prevalence for the latter. Complex aromas of well- pronounced dark fruits and spices, such as blackberry, cacao, and cloves. The sip is profound and rich but never static or monolithic thanks to a lively acidity. Flavorful tannins.

The 2011 d'aleco is an outstanding showing from Castello dei Rampolla. This alluring red displays an impressive dark, opaque color with gorgeous aromas of ripe black fruits, floral, graphite, smoke and spices all bursting from the glass. Full-bodied and beautifully balanced with remarkable structure and depth all the way into the long, expansive finish. Overall the 2011 d'Aleco is a completely compelling wine which is already quite expressive, nonetheless it is still an age-worthy wine which will be best after a few more years of bottle age. (Best 2020- 2036).

This is very firm and dense with fantastic structure and a superb depth of fruit and silky tannins. Full body showing a core of ripe fruit featuring currants and blackberries. Minerals and fresh mushrooms to add. Better in 2018.

The 2011 D'Alceo is a stunning blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% Petit Verdot. The bouquet is perfumed and enticing with dark rose, cherry fruit, spice, leather, cola, grilled herb and so much more. Fruit comes from a six-hectare single vineyard (whereas fruit for the Sanmarco represents a special selection from various vineyards.) The intensity and purity is what sets this wine part. Both are impeccable. In the mouth, D'Alceo feels long, linear and meaningful. Castello dei Rampolla practices biodynamic farming.
