2020 Puligny Montrachet Les Folatières 1. Cru Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

Very fine pale lemon yellow. The nose is exquisite just perfectly balanced, fine, balanced ripeness. Perfumed but not exotic. A little bit of magic in the glass. So much concentration here yet with a vivid freshness to finish. Convincing!

The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has even more mineralité on the nose than the Les Referts, displaying brilliant delineation and concentration and hints of apricot and white flowers that come from the millerandé berries. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and so much energy and tension. Quite saline toward the finish, with grapefruit and lime lingering on the aftertaste. Simply superb.

(from a parcel in Ez Folatières near Truffières). There is a vague whiff of the exotic to the spicy aromas of white peach and passion fruit along with a floral top note. The rich, concentrated and unusually powerful medium-bodied flavors that possess a gorgeous texture that carries over to the lemony, clean and very dry finish. This mineral-driven Folatières is quite tightly wound and a wine that is going to require at least moderate patience.
