2015 Vacqueyras Signature Domaine des Amouriers

As to the reds, classic notes of garrigue, red plums, black cherries, and Asian spice emerge from the 2015 Vacqueyras Signature. Pure, polished, medium-bodied, beautifully textured and balanced, it's another rocking Vacqueyras that shows how successful this appellation was in 2015. The blend is 62% Grenache, 30% Syrah and the balance Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Domaine des Amouriers is one of the leading estates in Vacqueyras. I wasn't able to taste their 2016s, but both 2015s are outstanding wines that have classic, balanced profiles.

Another outstanding wine from this terrific estate is the 2015 Vacqueyras Cuvee Signature, which checks in as 55% Grenache, 35% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre. Brought up all in tank, it has terrific notes of strawberries, plums, garrigue and licorice as well as medium to full- bodied richness, notable purity and a balanced, finesse-driven style on the palate. It will drink well for a decade and is a terrific wine to seek out.
