2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Domaine Fourrier

The 2015 Gevrey- Chambertin 'Vieille Vigne' is a lovely showing in this vintage from Domaine Fourrier . Showing a refined character, this begins with gorgeous aromas of red cherries and strawberries woven together with fresh floral and wet stones all taking shape. On the palate this is beautifully textured, with a fine, silky mouthfeel which shows lovely overall elegance, balance and precision. While offering some early appeal, patience will be required as this is sure to evolve beautifully. (Best 2022-2035) - December, 2017 (JD) .

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from several parcels around the appellation. I admire the bouquet here, very pretty with perfumed red cherries, crushed strawberry and subtle rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This is supple in the mouth with good acidity, upfront fleshy red cherry and strawberry fruit with a pinch of white pepper completing the finish. Recommended.

Bright medium red. Red fruits, animal fur and game lifted by a floral element on the nose. Plush and seamless; a step up in thickness and suavity from the Aux Echézeaux, with its deep raspberry fruit complicated by a mineral component. Mouthfilling but not heavy, finishing quite long, with tannins totally supported by fruit.

Ud af det kommer en kælen, indtagende, umiddelbar og pågående dyb hindbær- og kirsebærnæse, mens smagen er koncentreret som gammel soja, men helt uden kanter og barkede næver.
