This too is overtly floral though with more earth and less spice elements to the mostly red currant suffused nose. The juicy, even succulent medium weight flavors exhibit focused power and drive that carries over to the impressively complex and persistent finish. While this is quite fleshy at present, I suspect that it will tighten up once it's bottled. 2025+
A little bit more colour and a little bit meatier, this has solid weight in the centre, raspberry, strawberry and cherry fruit, which continues through across the palate very nicely. It is less ethereal than Les Hautes Maizières, but very well grounded. Tasted: November 2018.
Bursting with aromas of red berries, candied peel, peony and rose petal, the 2017 Nuits Saint- Georges 1er Cru Les Procès is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a deep, layered core, excellent volume and amplitude and a chassis of fine-grained, chalky tannins that only makes itself felt on the fragrant finish. It's an elegant wine that is far from the stereotype of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Procès, which includes 50% whole bunches, has a very feminine, pure red cherry and crushed strawberry bouquet that develops flinty scents with aeration. The medium-bodied palate displays supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, and feels quite compact toward the finish; it will benefit from two or three years in bottle. Excellent.
